Mike Newell, RN, MSN
President

Michael Newell, LifeSpanMichael Newell is a licensed nurse with more than 30 years of experience in all aspects of the health care industry.  He has spent more than 20 years at the bedside in critical care including neurosurgical intensive care, medical and surgical coronary care and emergency rooms.  Mr. Newell also has more than 10 years of case management and other health consulting experience.  He is the author of two books, Using Nursing Care Management to Improve Health Outcomes, and the co-author of Reinventing Your Nursing Career:  A Handbook for Success in the Age of Managed Care. As an Adjunct Nursing Clinical Instructor at of Nursing at Drexel University he received an award for excellence in teaching in 2004.

Sebastian Dovi, MD

Sabastian Dove, M.D.Dr. Sebastian Dovi is a leader in the Medical Management and Clinical Integration arena.  His experiences as a clinical physician, instructor at an academic medical center, market medical director, and consulting practice leader have enabled him to assist Managed Care Organizations develop the structure, process, information technology platform, and measurement criteria to succeed in today’s highly competitive and challenging healthcare market.  He has 19 years of clinical and 22 years of managed care experience.

Dr. Dovi has been medical consultant for Centene Corporation and was a principal at two big five firms accounting firms and the leader of their Health Care Consulting Clinical Integration Practices.  He was employed by Coopers & Lybrand as the regional director of Medical Management and Aetna Health Plans as a market medical director in charge of Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware.  He was a physician in the United States Navy for 10 years and served as Chief of Medicine at Roosevelt Roads, PR.  He practiced Internal Medicine and Cardiology for 19 years and chaired the Credentialing Committee, ICU/CCU Committee and Pharmacy Committee at Memorial Hospital.  

Dr. Dovi holds a BS in Biology and an MD from Georgetown University.  He did his internship and residency at the Bethesda Naval Hospital.  He has held medical licenses in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland and Washington DC and membership in numerous organizations including American College of Physicians, American College of Physician Executives and American Medical Association.  He is a Diplomat of the National Board of Medical Examiners. Dr. Dovi has had several speaking engagements including “When Capitation Knocks”, the “Future of Health Care” and has addressed the American Association of Cost Engineers on the “Drivers of Medical Health Care Costs”.

is an award winning writer and the former publicity director for Borders Book Shop.  During the last twenty years, Ms. Gager has worked with numerous health care organizations including the Pelizaeus Merzbacher Disease Foundation, the Professional Resource Network for Case Managers, electronic medical record pioneer Vitals 986, as well as one of the Delaware Valley’s largest private practice Dermatology offices.

 

 

Mark Newell

Mark Newell, VP Sales & Marketing

As a professional business coach and marketing consultant, Mark Newell has over 30 years of experience in helping businesses and their owners develop and maintain focused business objectives and strategies. With a long-time background that began in the hospitality, restaurant, and entertainment industry, Mark has experience in nearly all service industries.

As president of newellthinking, Newell has worked with clients such as Subaru of America, the Philadelphia Phillies, the Philadelphia Eagles, Mellon Bank, the Philadelphia Zoo and Free Library of Philadelphia. Mark Newell is also retained by the New Jersey Small Business Development Center at Rutgers University to provide marketing counselling NJSBDC clients, as well as instructing entrepreneurial courses.

Mark attended St. Joseph's University for Food Marketing. He is a former graduate of and trainer for The Dale Carnegie Sales Course, and served on marketing and business development committees for The Chamber of Commerce of Southern New Jersey and the Burlington County Chamber of Commerce. He currently serves as Ambassador for the Burlington and Camden Counties of Business Network International (BNI), the world’s largest business referral networking organization.



Frank Alkin

Frank Alkin, VP Business DevelopmentFrank Alkin has spent his entire career in the health care industry providing management leadership to employers, providers, consumers and health care insurers.  He has lectured on health care economics, and has served in a variety of capacities as sales manager, clinic and hospital administrator, marketing vice president, and national accounts consultant.

Mr. Alkin spent 15 years as the administrator of a number of medical groups affiliated with the Health Insurance Plan of Greater NY, and for nine years served as National Marketing Director and Sales Manager for Health Care Networks established by the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company. Additionally, for ten years Mr. Alkin was Marketing Director for University Health Plans based in New Jersey. He has also served as Vice President for Marketing at New York Hospital, and was employed by Montefiore Hospital to manage their cardiology clinics and faculty practices located on two Bronx campuses.

Mr. Alkin has taught management classes to undergraduate students in New York University and holds a BS in Marketing and an MS in Community Health Care Administration.

Kristine Davison Allcroft earned her PhD from the Fielding Graduate Institute’s Clinical Psychology with a specialization in Clinical Health Psychology in 2002. Her dissertation research investigated remarkable recovery and long-term remission from advanced colon cancer. In addition, Kristine is a student of the East -West School of Herbology, and a student of T’ai Chi. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Comparative Religious Studies and her Master of Arts Degree in Psychology. She is a Certified Nurses Aid and holds a Black Belt in Tung Soo Do Karate. She maintains a private practice as a Holistic Healthcare practitioner and a Reiki Master Practitioner-Trainer in Moorestown, NJ.  She is also the Area Director for Business Network International for Burlington and Camden Counties. She is married and has three children and resides in Riverside, NJ.

Frank came to CME from a successful tenure at the Burlington County High-Technology Small-Business Incubator in Mt. Laurel, which he led from its creation through life as a thriving enterprise. Under his leadership, the Rutgers-based Camden Business Incubator outgrew its initial building and moved into much larger and more comfortable quarters. The incubator provides suites and supports for diverse start-up businesses that access highly favorable conditions in Camden, while tapping into Rutgers' services.

Frank has extensive business experience--including a long career with RCA--in important roles such as President of the Kepner Tregoe Strategy Group in Princeton, Senior VP for the Strategic Management Group in Philadelphia and Executive Director for the American Cancer Society in Burlington County. His insurance career began in 1969 with the Banker’s Life, where he immediately qualified for their premier club and received numerous company awards. Joe is the past president of The Tri-County Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, served on the state level as Regional Vice President and a member for 35 years.

He spent 5 years with Occidental/Transamerica Life, qualifying for the Million Dollar Round Table as an agent and later as a supervisor. In 1974 Libby joined Philadelphia Life Insurance Company as a general agent and shortly became a qualifying and life member of The Million Dollar Round Table.  Joe  has received numerous awards including the National Quality Award and The National Sales Achievement Award and International Health Award. Prior to his ordination, Father Messina was a successful businessman. Ordained a Roman Catholic Priest 35 years ago, Father Messina attended the Delayed Vocation Seminary at Pope John XXIII Seminary in Weston, Massachusetts. Father Messina has served at several parishes in New Jersey and as a Chaplain at all hospitals in Camden County.  He has played an important role in the renewal movement of the Roman Catholic Church.

Father Messina served as Spiritual Director to Living Bridges, an international consortium of businessmen, faith-based leaders and political leaders.  During his tenure as Spiritual Director, he spearheaded the effort to build schools in the poorest areas of Mexico.

He stays busy serving on several boards a Foundation Board Member of Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center in Camden, also, Community Liaison for Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Camden, as the Faith-Based Coordinator for the Camden County Workforce Investment Board. Also, serving on the Board of Directors of the Healey Supporting Organization which provides much need support to the community of Camden City and consultation to the effort of sustaining and consolidating all levels of Catholic education.

Rich grew up in West Oak Lane, Philadelphia, and graduated from Dobbins Vocational Technical High School. He joined the Navy and served as an aircraft handler on the flight deck of the aircraft carrier Kearsarge, CVS 33 from 1961 through 1964.  He trained for but did not see action in his adventures through Asia, visiting Japan, Vietnam, Hong Kong, the Philippines, and Hawaii.  He was present when the Kearsarge picked up two astronauts, Wally Schirra, Jr. and Gordo Cooper, respectively, after their space voyages on the Sigma 7 in 1962 and the Faith 7 in 1963.

In the early 1990s, after several successful ventures, Smith came onboard with Comtec Industries, a company that manufactures and distributes plastic toilet partitions and lockers. He owns his own company through which he is the regional manufacturer’s representative.  Having recently purchased their only competition, Comtec is currently the industry leader in the world.
